Measures Initiated by the Institution for the Promotion of Gender Equity

Gender sensitivity is deeply embedded in the ethos of the college and the surrounding community.

(a) Safety and Security

  • Security guards are stationed at the main gate, and only students with valid ID cards are permitted entry.

  • Faculty members take rotational duty to maintain discipline and ensure security.

  • Strict Anti-Ragging measures are implemented, making the campus ragging-free.

  • Awareness campaigns on women’s safety and gender sensitivity are conducted through rallies, seminars, and NSS activities.

  • The campus is equipped with CCTV surveillance at key locations.

  • Women faculty members accompany girl students during outdoor activities, educational tours, and competitions.

  • The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) interacts with girl students regularly and promptly addresses their concerns.

  • Anti-Ragging, Disciplinary, and Grievance Redressal Committees ensure safety, security, and social justice on campus.

  • A complaint box is available for students to submit grievances or suggestions, which are acted upon promptly.

(b) Counseling

  • Faculty provide mentoring and counseling to students regarding academics, career planning, and personal concerns.

  • Mentor-Mentee programmes address psychological and emotional well-being.

  • ICC members counsel students on issues related to harassment, safety, and gender equity.

  • Experts from the police department, legal bodies, and other institutions are invited to deliver sessions on topics such as ragging, cyber safety, and women’s security.

  • Career Counseling, Health Counseling, and Value-based Counseling are conducted periodically.

  • Placement Cell and Alumni Network guide girl students on entrepreneurship, higher education, and job opportunities.

(c) Common Rooms

  • Separate common rooms for girl students are maintained with adequate facilities.

  • ICC regularly monitors these spaces to ensure safety and comfort.

(d) Other Measures of Gender Sensitization

  • Gender sensitivity is integrated into curriculum and co-curricular activities.

  • Awareness workshops and seminars are conducted on health, hygiene, nutrition, and women’s rights.

Annual Gender Sensitization Action Plan
