Roles and Responsibilities of the Anti-Ragging Committee

Government College Satnali

The Anti-Ragging Committee of Government College Satnali is constituted to ensure a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment by preventing and eliminating ragging in all its forms. The key roles and responsibilities of the committee are as follows:

  • Awareness Creation:
    To create awareness among freshers about their rights, safety measures, and mechanisms available against ragging.

  • Counseling and Guidance:
    To sensitize senior students about the adverse effects of ragging and to make them aware of the punishments and disciplinary actions involved.

  • Monitoring and Vigilance:
    To keep a constant watch and vigil to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of ragging within the campus.

  • Complaint Mechanism:
    To set up a suggestion/complaint box in the college where students can confidentially report grievances or ragging-related issues.

  • Action and Accountability:
    To take immediate and appropriate action against students violating the Anti-Ragging Policy, in accordance with UGC and Government guidelines.

  • Institutional Response:
    The Head of the Institution shall act promptly on any information or complaint received from the Anti-Ragging Committee.

  • Surveillance in Student Zones:
    To maintain vigilance and curb incidents of ragging in areas of student congregation such as classrooms, canteens, common rooms, playgrounds, and hostels.

  • Education and Sensitization:
    To educate the student community about the menace of ragging and the serious consequences associated with it through campaigns, workshops, and interactive sessions.

  • Display of Information:
    To prominently display Anti-Ragging notices, helpline numbers, and committee details at various locations on campus.
